REVIEW: Hand of God in the Washington Post January 14, 2022 Jon’s recent show at Photoworks Glen Echo was reviewed by Mark Jenkins in the Washington Post: Malis titled his show “The Hand of God,” which also sounds cosmic. But the phrase is just a wry photographer’s term for manipulating the brightness of areas of a photographic print. Rather than illustrate that technique, Malis pictures such devices as spotlights and reflectors in black-and-white close-ups…Malis’s gadgets are similar yet divergent.
